We're a great shop in a fantastic village, but this is more than just a convenient place to shop, it's also a social hub for community life. If you want to know what's going on in the village visit the shop and we'll point you in the right direction.
We sponsor the recently reformed Ruan Minor Football Club. We act as the main box office for all Ruan Revellers productions and provide the main distribution point for the Grade Ruan Gazette as well as the collection point for requested copy. We have also been the starting point for Grade Ruan under 5s Teddy Bears Picnic Treasure Hunt.
We host a library in aid of the Fisherman's Mission, sell t-towels on behalf of the Friends of St Ruan and St Grade Historic Church Buildings, badges and party confetti in aid of Grade Ruan School, as well as mugs for the Fisherman's Mission.
We managed to secure European funding to allow us to complete a full refit, including the addition of our community café. Follow this link to read the full details.
As part of that funding, we'd like to set up some community groups that will meet in the café and help to brighten up the Winter months. Stitch and bitch, knit and natter, are just a couple of ideas if there's something you'd like to help organise then just let us know. We've already started a local history group. Follow this link to see some of the postcards and old photographs we've already unearthed.
Our local history group meets in the café area, every 3rd Tuesday of the month. It’s quite an informal group – those who come along will bring their memories, photographs and postcards and discuss what they remember of the people and places depicted. We’ve already uncovered some lovely pictures and postcards, as well as interesting facts about Ruan, Cadgwith and the surrounding area. Why not join us for a coffee and a chat
